Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Mark spent ten years in Los Angeles before making the move to Shanghai in the fall of 2008. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Mark speaks fluent American English, is proficient in its European and Pacific varieties, and can now successfully order most standard drinks in Mandarin Chinese.
Mark has development and post-production experience with Emmett/Furla Films, First Television, Apartment 3B Productions, and Dreamworks Animation. During his time at Dreamworks Animation, he worked in post-production on such films as Madagascar, Wallace and Gromit: COTW, Over the Hedge, Flushed Away, Shrek the Third, and Bee Movie. Most recently Mark has turned his focus to writing for the screen, scripting Delmar’s Folly (short) and The Skeleton Desert (feature). He is currently writing another feature-length script, The Phantom Ship (working title) together with Luis A. Tapia. Mark and Luis are also collaborating on the upcoming documentary, Human Flesh Search Engine.
Mark is an experienced user of Final Cut Pro.
